Hospital Policies
At Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital, our policies are designed to ensure the highest level of care, safety, and efficiency for every patient we see. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to provide timely, compassionate veterinary services.
Appointments
We operate primarily by appointment to allow adequate time for each patient and to help ensure smooth, timely care throughout the day. While we do accept walk-in patients when possible, scheduled appointments are given priority. Because of this, wait times for walk-ins may vary depending on the day’s schedule and medical urgency.
If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, we kindly ask for advance notice so we may offer the time to another patient in need.
Emergency & Urgent Care
If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to accommodate urgent cases during business hours. After-hours emergencies may be referred to a local emergency veterinary facility.
Payment Policy
Payment is required at the time services are rendered. We accept multiple forms of payment for your convenience. If you have questions regarding costs or treatment plans, we are happy to provide estimates and discuss options prior to proceeding with care.
Estimates & Treatment Plans
We believe in clear, transparent communication regarding your pet’s care. Treatment plans and cost estimates are provided whenever possible, particularly for procedures, diagnostics, and hospitalization. Our team is always available to answer questions and help you make informed decisions.
Prescription Policy
For your pet’s safety, prescriptions are provided only to established patients following a physical examination and at the discretion of the attending veterinarian. Certain medications may require periodic rechecks to ensure safe and effective ongoing use.
Boarding & Hospitalization
Pets staying with us for boarding or hospitalization are cared for according to their individual medical and comfort needs. For the safety of all animals in our care, we recommend pets be current on required vaccinations prior to boarding.
Client Communication
We are committed to clear and timely communication. If your pet is hospitalized or undergoing treatment, our team will provide updates as appropriate and contact you regarding any significant changes in condition or treatment plan.
Our Commitment
Our goal is to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care while maintaining a safe, organized, and respectful environment for pets, clients, and staff.
